Khurda: A team of forest department officials recovered over 100 dead birds, including those of migratory species, at Sorona jetty under Tangi police limits in Khurda district on Sunday morning.
The poachers, however, managed to flee during the raid. Two motorcycles belonging to them have been seized by the forest officials.
Sorana is infamous for bird hunting. Bird meat is sold at exorbitant prices in the local markets as well as neighbouring states.
