Puri/Bhubaneswar: The Divisional Forest Officer of Puri has suspended two forest staffers for allegedly manhandling a journalist and his cameraperson near Balukhand-Konark Wildlife Sanctuary on Sunday.
They have been identified as Balighai Forester Tapan Nayak and Forest Guard Biraja Mohapatra.
The incident took place when a reporter and a cameraperson had gone to the sanctuary to do a story on the occasion of completion of one year of Cyclone Fani that had battered the Odisha coast on May 3, 2019.
According to a complaint lodged at the Penthakata Marine police station, two forest staffers attacked the journos in an inebriated state and tried to snatch the camera from them.
