Former BJP MLA From Odisha Aditya Madhi Passes Away

Bhubaneswar: Former Malkangiri MLA and BJP leader Aditya Madhi breathed his last on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhubaneswar. He was 50.

According to sources, he had been ailing with chronic kidney disease and had undergone a kidney transplant two years ago.

After two consecutive defeats, Madhi won the Malkangiri Assembly constituency in 2019 by trouncing Congress’ Mala Madhi with a margin of 25,569 votes. The BJP retained the seat in the recently-concluded elections with Narsingh Madkami, whom it had fielded this time instead of Madhi, citing health grounds.
