Mumbai: Former Delhi cricketer Mithun Manhas has been elected the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This was announced after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Board in Mumbai on Sunday.
Manhas succeeds former Indian cricketer Roger Binny. He will now be responsible for guiding Indian cricket’s administration and taking important decisions. He will receive help from vice-president Rajeev Shukla who has vast experience in both cricket administration and strategic planning.
Devajit Saikia was elected secretary, while Prabhtej Singh Bhatia took over as joint secretary. A Raghuram Bhat will handle the financial aspects as treasurer of the Board.
Jaydev Niranjan Shah was elected as the sole Member of the Apex Council, tasked with providing critical policy guidance, while two new members, Arun Singh Dhumal and M Khairul Jamal Majumdar, were inducted into the governing council. This council oversees broader initiatives across Indian cricket.
“Their collective experience is expected to enhance strategic decision-making and drive development programs across all levels of the sport,” a member said.
