Bhubaneswar: A former Deputy Director (Retired) of the Production and Maintenance wing of Text Book Press in Bhubaneswar was on Wednesday sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for two years by a court for possessing disproportionate assets.
The court of the Special Vigilance Judge in Bhubaneswar also directed convict Pratap Kishore Chhotray to pay a fine of Rs 2 lakh. In default of payment of fine, he has to undergo further six months of rigorous imprisonment for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988, an official release said.
The vigilance had registered a case in 2012 and unearthed disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 10,37,965 during the investigation.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Chhotray following his conviction.
