Bhubaneswar: Three prominent persons, including two retired bureaucrats and a former Indian Air Force officer, joined Odisha unit of the BJP here on Sunday.
Former IAS officer and litterateur Hrusikesh Panda, retired Air Marshal of Indian Air Force Dilip Kumar Patnaik and former Joint Secretary of Rajya Sabha Ramakanta Das joined the saffron party, just a few weeks ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.
Odisha in-charge of the party Vijaypal Singh Tomar, assistant in-charge Lata Usendi, state president Manmohan Samal, former president Samir Mohanty, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, former DGP Prakash Mishra and senior leaders were present at the joining event.
Earlier in the day, Jayadev MLA and former Minister Arabinda Dhali joined BJP after resigning from BJD. Apart from Dhali, two other sitting MLAs Pradeep Panigrahi and Prasant Jagadev, who had been expelled from BJD, had joined the saffron party in the state last month.
