Cuttack: The court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore on Saturday convicted former ICDS supervisor Subhamani Dei in a fraud case and sentenced her to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 2 years.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convict and ordered to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for 3 months in default of payment of fine. The court further sentenced her to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 1 year and pay fine of Rs 1,000 for another offence. Both the sentences will run concurrently.
Dei, who was ICDS supervisor in the office of the CDPO, Malkangiri, was accused of availing promotion to the post from Anganwadi Worker by producing fake Matriculation certificate. She was dismissed from the job following the case.
