Bhubaneswar: Major R N Mishra (Retd), former Chairman of IMFA Group, passed away here on Saturday.
BJP’s national vice-president Baijayant Jay Panda and IMFA Group MD and FICCI senior VP Subhrakant Panda condoled his death.
“Deeply sad at the passing of Maj RN Misra. After leaving the army he spent decades with IMFA, the organisation founded by my late father in 1960, retiring last year as Chairman. I had occasion to work with & learn from this dynamic, charismatic leader in the 1990s.Om Shanti,” Baijayant Panda tweeted.
“Maj Mishra’s contribution to @IMFALtd, first as COO then Director & finally Chairman, is unparalleled — something that I recall with much gratitude. It is a personal loss given the long & deep association. My condolences to his extended family & prayers for the departed soul,” Subhrakant Panda said.
“We are deeply saddened at the demise of Major R N Mishra (Retd). He had a long association with the company culminating in being appointed Chairman from 2019-2021. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family & prayers for the departed soul to rest in peace,” IMFA Ltd tweeted.
Major Mishra, who was born on March 14, 1938, held the post of Director IMFA since 1993. He had an engineering degree from the College of Military Engineering, Pune. He also had an MBA degree from the University of Pune. He was a Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineers India as well as a certified Chartered Engineer.
He had vast and rich experience in the field of ferro alloys, mining, power and corporate management.
