Former Junior Engineer Gets 2-Year Jail In Graft Case

Balasore: The Special Vigilance Court in Balasore sentenced former
junior engineer of Bhogarai block Jasen Murmu to two years’ rigorous
imprisonment after he was found guilty of accepting bribe during his
term in 2010.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10, 000 on Murmu.

The accused was caught red-handed by a team of vigilance officials
while accepting a bribe of Rs 5, 000 from the complainant Sunil Kumar
Kar to prepare a bill amounting Rs 3 lakh for a Cement Concrete road
project in Chandipur area of Balasore district.

Following his arrest, Murmu was put under suspicion and later dismissed.
