Bhubaneswar: Former Indian Navy officer of Bari Assembly constituency in Jajpur district Kabir Das and state president of Kesariya Hindu Vahini Rabindra Satpathy on Saturday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), here on Saturday.
Welcoming Das at the state headquarters office, the BJP’s state president Sameer Mohanty said it is a matter of pride for the party that the defence personnel, who have worked for the country, have joined the BJP. Their dedication and patriotism will inspire the party workers to do their might to the service of the country, he added.
Inviting Satpathy to the party fold, Mohanty said his experience of working at the grassroots level will strengthen BJP’s fight against injustice and misrule of the present government in the state.
The BJP president hoped that the two new leaders will prove as additional forces in helping the party reach the welfare schemes of the Central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jajpur district president of BJP Gautam Ray and former president Asutosh Parida along with other prominent leaders were present at the welcome function.
