Bhubaneswar: Former Speaker Of Odisha Assembly Sarat Kumar Kar passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Monday. He was 81.
Informing the media about his death, Kar’s son Suman said that his father had contracted COVID-19 and was under treatment at the COVID hospital in Bhubaneswar. Though he was recently discharged from the hospital after recovering from the disease, he again fell seriously ill and was admitted to the COVID hospital, where he passed away at 3.30 pm.
Born on September 5, 1939, Kar was elected to the State Assembly three times from his home constituency Mahanga.
