Bhubaneswar: In a minor reshuffle in the top bureaucracy, the Odisha government on Thursday appointed 1993-batch IAS officer Surendra Kumar as principal secretary, Water Resources.
He was serving as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO). His posting followed the ECI’s nod to appointment of 1995-batch senior IAS officer Sushil Kumar Lohani as the CEO of Odisha.
Lohani will also take charge as the ex-officio commissioner-cum-secretary Home (Election).
Besides, five 2017-batch IAS officers have also been given fresh posting after returning from central deputation.
While Somesh Kumar Upadhyay has been appointed as OMFED chief general manager, P Anveaha Reddy will take charge as executive director, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Ltd.
Similarly, Patil Ashish Ishwar has been posted as executive director, Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) and Divakara TS and Hema Kanta Say as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and in-charge managing director, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC), respectively, said a General Administration release.
This was done to give them an experience of the corporate sector, it added.
