Bhubaneswar: Senior leader and former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik has contributed Rs 1.38 lakh to the party’s crowdfunding campaign.

Giving this information in a post in his X handle, Patnaik said that he has contributed the amount towards the advancement of a progressive Odisha and India.

“Today, I have contributed ₹1,38,000 towards the advancement of a progressive Odisha and India. The politics of BJD at the state and BJP at the center is heavily influenced by sheer financial might via electoral bonds and other means. I encourage all proponents to consider contributing to the 138-year-old Congress party to protect and uphold the values of our Constitution,” he said on X.

It may be noted here that the grand old party launched a nationwide crowdfunding campaign on December 18 for collection of monetary contributions from the people. Congress leaders said the drive has been launched to commemorate 138 years of dedication and service to the nation by the party.
