NewDelhi/Bhubaneswar: Injeti Srinivas, a retired 1983-batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, has been appointed as Chairman of International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved this appointment to the post and the former corporate affairs secretary will head the IFSCA for a period of three years, said an official note on Monday.
Srinivas had retired on May 31.
While serving as the corporate affairs secretary, Srinivas was instrumental in pushing through significant reforms in the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and the Companies Act, a report published in the Economics Times Said.
Gujarat-based IFSCA is a unified authority to regulate all financial services in International Financial Services Centres (IFSCs) in the country.
Besides the Chairman, IFSCA has a member each nominated from RBI, IRDAI, SEBI and PFRDA. There are also two members from the Central Government and full-time or part-time members in the Authority.
