Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Information Commissioner and noted environmentalist Radhamohan died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Friday. He was 78.
A Padma Shri awardee, Radhamohan was not keeping well for the past few months.
According to hospital sources, he was suffering from pneumonia and was admitted in the ICU for the past few days.
He became the State Information Commissioner after he retired as Principal of Puri’s SCS College. He taught economics at different government colleges.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, among others, expressed grief over the demise of the noted economist and environmentalist.
In a tweet, the PM wrote, “Prof Radhamohan Ji was deeply passionate about agriculture, especially adopting sustainable and organic practices. He was also respected for his knowledge on subjects relating to the economy and ecology. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
