Bhubaneswar: Former Congress MLA Ashwini Guru passed away at his Brajarajnagar residence early on Sunday. He was 71.
According to sources, he breathed his last at around 4 am after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Guru was elected to the state Assembly from Sambalpur in 1980 during the tenure of former Chief Minister Janaki Ballabh Patnaik. He also served as Samablpur district president of Congress and a member of AICC (All India Congress Committee) from 2018 to 2022.
