Bhubaneswar: Former Polasara MLA Niranjan Pradhan breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Thursday night. He was 67.
According to family sources, he had been keeping unwell for nearly a month and was being treated for brain haemorrhage and multiple blood clotting, since September 3. He also suffered from diabetes.
Pradhan was initially elected from Kodala Assembly constituency in Ganjam district in 2004 and then went on to win from Polasara constituency in Ganjam in 2009. He represented Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on both the occasions. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after being denied a BJD ticket for 2019 elections.
