Bhubaneswar: With elections in Odisha barely weeks away, former Salepur MLA Prakash Chandra Behera joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) at its party headquarters, Sankha Bhawan, in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
He was inducted in to the regional party in the presence of senior BJD leader Manas Mangaraj.
Behera had won the Salepur in 2014 on Congress ticket. He joined the BJP ahead of 2019 elections and contested again from the same constituency but lost to BJD’s Prashant Behera.
Behera, who was the BJP Cuttack district president, had quit the party on March 29, a day after Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab was inducted into the saffron fold.
