Former Orissa High Court Judge Passes Away

Cuttack: Retired Judge of Orissa High Court Justice Purna Chandra Mishra passed away at his residence in CDA, Cuttack, at 1.10 pm on Saturday.

He was 90 and suffering from old age-related ailments for some time, sources said.

Born on December 24, 1932, he served as Judge of Orissa High Court from June 1, 1983, to January 23, 1994. He also worked as Standing Counsel for the central government from May 15, 1978, to September 24, 1981, and had been a legal adviser to Life Insurance Corporation of India since August 1977. He was appointed to Senior Standing Counsel by the Food Corporation of India in January 1979.
