New Delhi: The condition of former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, remained critical on Tuesday after he underwent brain surgery on Monday, reported India Today. He has also tested positive for coronavirus.
Quoting from an update from the Army Research and Referral Hospital, where Pranab Mukherjee underwent the surgery, India Today reported, “Post-surgery, he continues to remain critical on ventilatory support. He was also found to be COVID-19 positive.”
The surgery was carried out at the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital in Delhi to remove a large clot in his brain, said the hospital, the report added.
According to the hospital authorities, the former President’s vital parameters are stable and the surgery was successful. A multidisciplinary team doctors is constantly monitoring the health of former President, who is 84 years old.
President Ram Nath Kovind spoke to Mukherjee’s daughter Sharmistha and inquired about his health, the Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted.
