Former President Pratibha Patil’s Condition Stable, Says Pune Hospital

Pune: Former President Pratibha Patil was admitted to Bharati Hospital in Maharashtra’s Pune for treatment of fever and upper respiratory tract infection late on Wednesday. Her condition was stated to be stable.

“Former President Pratibha Patil was admitted to the hospital last night. She is having fever along with some infection in the chest. Her health condition is stable. She is under treatment and is being monitored closely,” news agency PTI quoted the hospital as saying.

89-year-old Patil, the first woman President of India, held the post from 2007 to 2012. She had settled in Pune after retirement. Her husband passed away last year.
