Former Ranji player Pravanjan Mullick To Coach Senior Odisha Team During 2026-27 Season

Cuttack: Pravanjan Mullick has been appointed Head Coach of the Odisha senior men’s cricket team for the 2026-27 BCCI domestic season.

Last season, Mullick was Head Coach of the Odisha U-19 team, guiding the boys to the Vinoo Mankad Trophy quarterfinals. He was also Head Coach of the Cuttack Panthers franchise in the inaugural Odisha Pro T20 League last year and also Rising Students Club, which emerged champions of the OCA Club Cricket League.

Mullick was also a member of the Odisha senior men’s selection committee for five years.

Mullick had a fruitful playing career, representing Odisha and East Zone with distinction. Between 1996 and 20

08, Mullick played 88 first-class matches and 56 List A games, scoring 5818 and 1156 runs, respectively.

Odisha Cricket Association’s (OCA) other important appointment was that of Santanu Ghosh as Technical Director of the Odisha Cricket Academy.

An experienced coach with extensive involvement in domestic cricket, Ghosh is currently associated with the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) Elite Camp 2026 for Under-19 boys. He earlier served as spin bowling coach at the CoE High Performance Camp 2025 in Rajkot. He has also worked with several state teams and high-performance programmes across India.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) — comprising Kishore Mania, Chinmayananda Jena and Soumitra Choudhury – selected Mullick and Ghosh following a thorough interview and evaluation process conducted May 4 and 5.

The OCA had earlier published an advertisement inviting applications for various positions for the upcoming domestic season. There were several applications from Odisha and other states, from which a shortlist of candidates was made.
