Chitrakonda: Former sarpanch of Panasput panchayat of Malkangiri, Arjun
Hental and his two associates were brutally thrashed in a Praja Court
by Maoists on Sunday night.
A group of armed ultras belonging to the outlawed CPI (Maoists)
organisation took the trio from their houses and produced them in a
Praja Court conducted by them in a forest near Panasput village in
Chitrakonda . They thrashed the villagers severely branding them as
informers of police.
Later, the rebels released Hantal and his associates after threatening
them of dire consequences, if they continue to pass information about
the Maoist activities to police.
On Saturday, suspected Maoists killed a man identified as Sitaram
Khila at Nutekpadar village under Ralegada panchayat in the district
on suspicion of being a police informer.
