Hyderabad: Former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao or KCR was rushed to a hospital after he fell down in his farmhouse at Erravalli on Thursday night.
According to reports, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief fell in the bathroom and sustained injuries. He was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad, with a suspected fracture, around 12.30 am. “Rao suffered a hip bone fracture, and medical professionals are evaluating the possibility of hip surgery,” TOI reported, quoting sources in the hospital.
It further said that the incident reportedly occurred as Rao was tying his pancha.
Rao’s daughter and BRS MLC K Kavitha, however, wrote X that he has suffered a ‘minor injury’ and would be fine soon.
“BRS supremo KCR Garu sustained a minor injury and is currently under expert care in the hospital. With the support and well wishes pouring in, Dad will be absolutely fine soon. Grateful for all the love,” she posted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished for KCR’s quick recovery in a post on X. “Distressed to know that former Telangana CM Shri KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health,”he wrote.
KCR stepped down as chief minister of Telangana recently following BRS’s defeat in the Telangana legislative assembly election. Rao, who contested from two constituencies, won as an MLA from the Gajwel Assembly constituency but faced defeat in Kamarreddy.
