Founder Of Utkal Varsity English Department Dead

Bhubaneswar: Founder of the English Department of Utkal University, Professor Prabhat Nalini Das passed away on Wednesday at her residence. She was 91.

She had also served as Professor of English at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University and Ranchi University.

Getting the news of her sad demise, many of her students, friends and relatives reached her house to pay their last tributes.

Professor Das had worked as the HOD of the English Department of Utkal University
for 28 years. She was a celebrated academician and popular professor.

She was the wife of Professor Bidhu Bhusan Das.

Her last rites will be performed tomorrow after her children arrive. Samajwadi Party Odisha State Committee president, Rabi Behera expressed her condolences on
the sad demise of Professor Das.
