Jharsuguda: Four people were arrested by police on Wednesday for the alleged murder of a poultry farm owner in Odisha’s Jharsuguda.
The accused were identified as Imran, Shahbaz Khan, Ijaz Khan and Wasim, the police said and added, a country-made revolver, 18 live ammunition, and a two-wheeler were seized from their possession.
The deceased Shahjahan Khan (26) owned a chicken farm in Mangal Bazar area of Jharsuguda. He was shot dead by four miscreants in Beherapat area under Jharsuguda Sadar police limits on Monday.
The murder of Shahjahan was a fallout of business rivalry between Imran and Shahjahan, informed Jharsuguda SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas.
After committing the crime, Imran and Ijaz carried Shahjahan’s body in a car and dumped it near Rengali. As Shahjahan did not return home at night, his family members lodged a complaint with local police.
Shahjahan’s body was recovered on Tuesday midnight, the police added.
The four accused have been booked and remanded in judicial custody.
