Jatni: Four persons were arrested on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in a jewellery shop loot incident that took place on July 22.
Among those arrested, two were identified as goldsmiths. Stolen gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees were recovered from the accused persons, police sources said.
A gang of unidentified miscreants decamped with gold ornaments and Rs 18 lakh in cash from a jewellery shop at Jatni town in Khurda district. The incident occurred at Gold Plaza and the robbers entered the shop by digging a 2-feet tunnel from a roadside drain.
The incident came to the fore when the owner, Mahesh Kumar Santada, opened the shop in the morning and informed the cops.
