Following a tip-off, the official intercepted an auto-rickshaw in which the accused were transporting the contraband. The ganja was being smuggled to West Bengal from Phulbani, sources said.
The market value of the seized contraband has been estimated to be around Rs 6 lakh, the sources added.
On June 30, police had seized over a quintal of ganja and arrested seven persons carrying the narcotics in Koraput district.
A night police patrolling team intercepted two cars near Padua and seized the banned substance after searching both the vehicles. The ganja was reportedly being transported from Padua to Angul district.
