Four Children Drown At Two Places In Odisha

Jagatsinghpur/Kendrapada: Four children met their watery grave at two separate places in Odisha on Wednesday.

Two minor boys drowned in a pond while taking a bath at Singiri village under Balikuda block in Jagatsinghpur district.

The deceased were identified as Omm Biswal, son of Saroj Biswal, and Pratap Rout’s son Aryan Suman Rout. Omm was studying in Class V, while Arya was in Class III.

The families of both the boys panicked when they did not return home. On finding the two floating in water, they took the children to the district headquarters hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.

In a similar incident, two children aged three drowned in Paika river at Narada village under Garadpur block in Kendrapara district.

The deceased have been identified as Ratikant Behera and Puja Behera.

According to the sources, both the children were playing near the river. As they did not return home, their family members started searching for them.

Later, the villagers found them floating in the river. They were rushed to Raghunathpur Hospital but doctors declared them brought dead.
