Rourkela: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) authorities on Saturday suspended four jawans in charge of the security of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) for dereliction of duty.
According to reports, the Crime Branch and RSP Vigilance teams on Friday had raided two trucks near the Plate Mill on the RSP premises. However, the two truck drivers managed to escape. The raids were part of an investigation into alleged stealing of iron scraps from the plant.
Following a complaint by the RSP authorities at Tangarpalli police station, the CISF authorities suspended the four jawans for allowing the two trucks inside the plant without entry passes.
Notably, the RSP Vigilance team had arrested a truck driver two days ago for entering the plant without an entry pass.
