Four Dacoits Nabbed, Weapons Seized In Odisha’s Angul

Angul: Four members of a dacoit gang were arrested by police on Wednesday in connection with a robbery case under Talcher police limits. The arrested are Satyajit Naik alias Sanu, Ananda Naik, Babul Behera alias Bikash and Chandan Patra.

A dagger and chopper besides Rs 21,000 were seized by police, stated a release by Talcher police station.

As per the FIR registered on Tuesday, complainant Santosh Kumar Jena of Balipatta village under Kaniha police limits alleged that on March 15 he and two others, Bhagirathi Behera and Shaktiswarup Behera were going towards the Thermal weekly market in a pickup van when six miscreants on two bikes intercepted the vehicle near Kandhal Tarini Temple and allegedly committed the dacoity.

The miscreants snatched Rs 79,200 cash and two mobile phones by showing sharp weapons. Soon after, the culprits decamped with the booty.
