Dhenkanal: Four members of a family, including a two-year-old boy and an elderly man, sustained critical injuries after a crude bomb exploded in their house at Jharada village under Gondia police limits in Dhenkanal district on Monday night.
The victims have been identified as Jhuna Guru, Rakesh Guru, Parbati Guru and Pitabas Guru. They were rescued by locals and rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.
The incident took place when the minor boy took out a bag containing the bombs and threw it on the ground inside the house while playing. The bombs were kept in the house to drive away elephants straying into the locality on regular basis in search of food.
However, some villagers told police that the bombs were provided to them by forest personnel.
