Four Foreigners Detained For Flying Drone Over Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri: Singhadwara police detained four foreigners, including two women, for flying a drone camera over Jagannath Temple in Puri on Thursday.

The Russian nationals and ISKCON devotees were identified as Maxim Verkhoturov, Yulia Shvaleeva, Dima Zlobin and Elena Solodehuk.
According to police sources, these people were caught while operating a high-definition drone camera atop the roof of Radha Ballab Mutt here to take photographs of the 12th century shrine. Police seized the camera-fitted drone and deleted photographs of the shrine.
They are being questioned and the investigation into the matter is ongoing, police said.
The shrine was declared as ‘no flying zone’ by the Odisha government in 2014 following a similar incident.
