Nabarangpur: Four suspected Maoists were arrested from near Kusumpura Square under Raigarh block of Nabarangpur district while putting up posters on Tuesday.
Pilaram Netam, Ishwarlala Netam, Ignus Netam and Sanjay Netam are all from Joratarei village in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh.
Police sources said a patrolling party spotted them around 4.30am while they were putting up posters urging people to boycott the upcoming polls and criticising the policies of the government.
Police arrested them after they failed to give reliable identity proof. Two motorcycles, some posters and leaflets were seized from them.
During interrogation, it was ascertained that the arrested persons used to work for the banned CPI(Maoist) of the Sita Nadi Area Committee.
