Sonepur: Four more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Binka block of Sonepur district on Sunday.
According to official sources, of the four new cases, three belong to Bankighirdi panchayat and one to Kuibahal panchayat in the block. In Bankighirdi, a woman health worker and two ASHA workers tested corona positive.
As the health worker had carried out vaccination to children and the ASHA workers conducted door-to-door survey on Wednesday last, community transmission of corona is apprehended.
The district administration has launched contact tracing of all the three persons and announced shutdown in Bankighirdi village for two days.
The COVID-19 patient in Kuibahal was accommodated in temporary health centre after returning from West Bengal and his swab was sent for test. The test report that was received on Sunday confirmed corona positive.
All the four patients have been admitted in COVID Health Centre. With the new cases, the number of corona positive cases in the district has gone up to 35 while 29 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease and returned home.
