Bhubaneswar: Director of Health Services Bijay Mohaptra on Tuesday informed that 564 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and results of five were found to be positive for COVID-19.
Earlier in the day, the government had informed about a 61-year-old man of Jafarpur in Jajpur district with a recent travel history to Kolkata. He had tested positive for the virus on Monday.
Four samples from Bhubaneswar were found with the infection on Tuesday. “Among them is a 50-year-old man of Jharpada, who is linked to Patient 42, the 72-year-old man who died of coronavirus on April 6,” Mohapatra said.
The other three cases – a 70-year-old man, a 51-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman – are from Bomikhal, he added,
With this, the number of confirmed cases in Odisha rose to 60 with the capital city reporting 46 of them.
A total of 18 people have been fully cured of the disease in the state.
