New Delhi: The “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for 2021 were awarded to 152 police personnel in the country, including four from Odisha.
The four cops from Odisha awarded the medal are Debendra Kumar Mallick (Inspector), Debendra Kumar Biswal (Inspector), Trupti Ranjan Nayak (SI) and Srikanta Sahu (SI).
The medal was constituted in 2018 to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognize such excellence by investigating officers.
Among the others who received the medal this year, 15 are from CBI, 11 each from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, 10 from Uttar Pradesh, 9 each from Kerala and Rajasthan, 8 from Tamil Nadu, 7 from Bihar, 6 each from Gujarat, Karnataka and Delhi and the remaining from other States/UTs. These include 28 women police officers.
