New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved empanelment of 68 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers for appointment to Inspector General (IG) or equivalent posts at the Centre.
According to a notification from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the empanelment covers officers under categories such as Initial Leftover, Initial, and First Review across various state cadres.
Among those empanelled are four officers from the Odisha
cadre: Soorya Thankappan (2001 batch) and Sarthak Sarangi (2007 batch) in the Initial Leftover category, and Umashankar Dash (2008 batch) and Parkash R (2008 batch) in the initial category.
The notification further stated that the ACC has also not approved the empanelment of 55 officers, including Satyajit Naik (2008 batch), Niti Shekhar (2007 batch), Awinash Kumar (2007 batch) of Odisha cadre – and deferred that of six for IG-level positions.
