Jharsuguda: Director General of Railway Protection Force (RPF) has placed four staffers under suspension in connection with the theft of rice.
Those suspended are inspector LK Das, ASI SK Kumar and havildars RV Thakur and D Buxla.
According to reports, a goods train was carrying rice of the Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) Ltd from Bargarh to Ranchi. However, some miscreants looted 288 sacks of rice and kept them in an abandoned house at Dabling Colony near Jharsuguda railway station. Following information, the Government Railway Police (GRP) had seized the rice bags from the house.
As the incident came to light, the RPF DG probed into the matte and suspended the four staffers for dereliction of duty.
Later, three persons Rahul Sahu, Krishna Sahu and Tinku Kanta of Telibhata area were arrested for stealing the rice.
