Balangir: The Balangir administration in Odisha has terminated services of four government teachers, who had secured jobs by furnishing fake educational certificates, officials said on Friday.
The teachers have identified as Sanjit Pani Mahanand, Mrinmayee Panda, Biranchi Prasad Nayak and Alma Toppo.
While Panda, a Hindi teacher at Randa High School, was arrested on August 10 after the district education officer (DEO) filed a complaint on August 8 with the Town police, the others absconded fearing arrest. As per the certificates submitted by Panda, she had passed two exams, including Hindi teacher’s training, in one year.
They were earlier placed under suspension for alleged forgery.
After the dismissal order was issued by the DEO, police have also written to the banks to freeze the accounts of the fake teachers.
