Nabarangpur: An unidentified fraudster has been demanding money from the friends and relatives of a journalist here after hacking into his Facebook account.
The journalist, Bankabihari Bisoyi, has lodged a police complaint in this regard. “Someone hacked my Facebook account last Saturday and sent several messages to my friends and relatives asking for money for my medical treatment. I was surprised when my friends asked me about it. I seek justice as my dignity has been tarnished due to this fraudulent activity,” Bisoyi told police.
Bisoyi said similar scams were detected in Nabarangpur district earlier. “I believe there is a big racket involved in this. I have urged police to arrest the accused immediately,” he added.
