Bhubaneswar: Some unidentified fraudster allegedly attempted to cheat people and extort money by using the name of senior IAS officer Usha Padhee, who is the Principal Secretary in Odisha’s Housing and Urban Development department.
The senior bureaucrat shared this information on her X handle. Some imposter is allegedly sending messages to her known contacts and asking money.
Stating that she has already approached the authorities concerned for necessary steps, Padhee advised people to be cautious and not to get trapped by such cyber fraudsters.
The senior officer also shared a screen shot of the message showing the fraudster asking for Rs 50,000 from someone. The bank account number has also been shared for sending money. The fraud also promised to return the money later.
“It has been brought to my attention that some imposter is sending messages to many known contacts and asking money. I have already taken steps to report to concerned authorities. May please be cautious and don’t get in to the trap such cyber fraudsters,” Padhee posted on X.
