Bhawanipatna: A freak firing from a country-made gun by a man reportedly claimed the life of his wife and left his daughter critically injured at a village in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

As per preliminary information, the incident took place at Ranpur village under the jurisdiction of Thuamul Rampur police station in the district.

The deceased woman was identified as Dema Dei Majhi, while her daughter Bidya is undergoing treatment in hospital. Her condition was stated to be critical.
