New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar updates through its online platform, myAadhaar, till June 14, 2025.
The last date allowing people to update their demographic information, such as name, date of birth, address, and mobile number, was December 14.
The extension aims to encourage those who have not updated their Aadhaar details in over a decade to utilise the service.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has been encouraging citizens to review their Aadhaar card information, particularly those who received their Aadhaar cards more than ten years ago and haven’t made any updates. Nevertheless, it is not obligatory to make these updates.
UIDAI on its X handle stated: “#UIDAl extends free online document upload facility till 14th June 2025; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This free service is available only on the #myAadhaar portal. UIDAl has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their #Aadhaar.”
To make any changes to biometrics—like fingerprints, iris scans, or photographs— Aadhaar holders will have to visit authorised Aadhaar centres and pay a nominal fee to update details. This is mandatory for individuals whose biometrics have changed significantly due to age, surgery and accidents, and also for minors turning 15 to maintain the accuracy of their Aadhaar information.
