Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has welcomed the Indian government’s decision to provide COVID-19 vaccine booster/precaution dose free of cost to people in the age group of 18-59 years.
He also appealed all eligible citizens to get vaccinated for a COVID-free Odisha.
“Welcome the decision of Government of India to launch a special drive to provide free precaution doses of #COVID19 vaccines to 18-59 age group of people. Appeal all eligible people to come forward and get vaccinated for a #CovidFreeOdisha,” the CM tweeted on Wednesday.
The Centre’s decision to provide the booster dose free for all adults is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate India’s 75th anniversary of Independence.
The 75-day special drive is likely to begin on July 15.
Those above 60 are already getting the booster shot free at government vaccination centres.
