Bhubaneswar: Free coaching for Plus II science students to help them prepare for national-level competitive examinations like NEET and JEE began on virtual mode across Odisha on Thursday.
To increase the success rate of aspirants and enhance their competitive ability, the initiative has been rolled out in all the government, non-government and aided colleges free of cost, sources said.
Arrangements have been made for smart TV and interactive panel in those colleges for imparting the online coaching in an effective manner.
As per the arrangement made by the authorities, the nodal officer will inform about the presence of students in coaching classes to the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education on a daily basis. The college authorities have also been asked to appoint mentor teachers to help the students during online coaching.
It may be noted here that many higher secondary schools have received assistance for smart classes under CM-SA from the Planning and Coordination department for imparting online coaching to the aspirants.
Welcoming the initiative taken by the state government, experts said that NEET and JEE aspirants are spending a lot of money on coaching in private coaching centres. The step taken by the government for providing free online coaching for NEET and JEE will go a long way in increasing the competitive ability of aspirants, they said.
