Bhubaneswar: Hockey India tweeted welcoming the French Hockey team to Bhubaneswar for the most-awaited Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup, beginning November 28.
With only six days to go for the mega event, teams have started arriving in Odisha capital for their campaigns.
The players moved to Mayfair Hotels from Biju Patnaik International Airport. The French, which is in Pool A, will play against New Zealand on November 29 at Kalinga Stadium here.
On Wednesday, the teams from Argentina and South Africa had reached the Odisha capital. Hockey India tweeted SA’s captain’s desire ahead of the mega event.
Olympic Argentina Hockey team were the first to land in the City of Temples. Argentina’s drag flick sensation Gonzalo Peillat expressed his team’s excitement. “It will be a great tournament, playing in Bhubaneswar again in front of a crazy crowd, the entire team is looking forward to it,” he said.
Argentina had won the silver medal at Odisha Men’s Hockey World League Final 2018.
Team Argentina has been grouped in Pool A with Spain, New Zealand and France. They will begin their campaign on November 29.
South Africa, which in Pool C with India, Canada and Belgium, will play its first match on November 28.
