Fresh Cyclonic Circulation Likely Over Bay Of Bengal In Oct Second-Half



Bhubaneswar: A fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal later this month, according to North Indian Ocean Extende


d Range Outlook for Cyclogenesis issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

The cyclonic circulation is likely to form over east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea between October 14 and October 20, and move in a west-northwestwards direction with “low” probability of further intensification.

“There is a likelihood of formation of a cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea during week 2 with low probability of its further intensification and west-northwestwards movement,” it said.

The existing cyclonic circulation over central parts of south Bay of Bengal is likely to move westnorthwestwards with a low probability of its intensification into a low-pressure area, it added.
