Bhubaneswar: The process to include new beneficiaries under Subhadra Yojana, the women-centric welfare scheme, will commence from November 1, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed on Friday.

“Those who turned 21 by November 1 this year can apply online via the official Subhadra portal. Individuals who are 20 or turning 21 may submit preliminary applications, but they will only be enrolled under the scheme once they officially attain the age of 21,” said Parida, who also holds the Women and Child Development portfolio.

According to sources, the online application portal will be opened to all eligible applicants across the state, except in areas where the Model Code of Conduct is currently in force.

The flagship fund-transfer scheme of the Mohan Majhi government, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday (September 17) in 2024. The scheme promises financial aid of Rs 50,000 to eligible women aged 21 to 60 years, over five years, with two instalments of Rs 5,000 being directly transferred every year to their bank accounts, on International Women’s Day on March 8 and on Raksha Bandhan every year.

A total of 1.24 crore women received the third instalment of Rs 5,000 each on Raksha Bandhan and the first two instalments earlier.
