Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain is set to pummel several parts of Odisha over the next four days as a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over east-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.
In view of the formation of the system, Odisha state is very likely to experience an active wet spell till Augus, 31. After formation, the low pressure area is likely to move west-northwestwards close to south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts during next two days.
The weather agency issued yellow warning of heavy rain (7 to 11cm) at isolated places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Balasore districts in the next 24 hours.
Thunderstorms and lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh during the period.

1) Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Rayagada.
2) Yellow Warning: Heavy rain (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning may occur at isolated places in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Nuapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.
August 30
Orange Warning: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain (7 to 20cm) with isolated extremely heavy rainfall (>20cm) is very likely to occur in the districts of Malkangiri, and Koraput.
Heavy to very heavy rain (7 to 20cm) is likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam.
2)Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.
August 31
Yellow Warning: Heavy rain (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Balangir, Nuapada, Gajapati, Ganjam.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea along and off Odisha coasts, during August 30 and 31.
